About Raw & Paw

Built by dog people who wanted better food and a better feeding experience.

No dramatic origin myth. Just a lot of reading, a lot of care, and a belief that feeding your dog well should feel simple.

I have always found 'About' pages a little strange. They can feel a bit egocentric. It's meant to be about the company, not the customer. And yet, every company seems to need one, so here we are.

If you're looking for an over-produced brand story, this probably is not it. A lot of pet food brands begin with a dramatic illness, a miracle switch, and a tidy ending.

That is not our story.

Our dogs came first. The standards followed.

We're first-time dog owners. Our first dog, Benji, started eating raw at around six months old once we became aware of it. Rosie, our adopted dog, has been fed raw since the day she came home.

There was no crisis that forced our hand. Neither of our dogs has ever been seriously ill. It was a simpler decision than that: we love our dogs, we care what goes into their bowls, and we wanted to understand what truly gives them the best chance at a long, healthy life.

So we did the reading. Blogs, academic papers, research studies, conversations with other owners, trainers, and anyone else who had spent time thinking carefully about canine nutrition.

All the evidence pointed us in the same direction: a high-quality raw-fed diet is one of the best things we can do for a dog's long-term health.

Because the food mattered, but the experience mattered too.

There are plenty of raw dog food brands already, so it is fair to ask why we started another one.

Once we were convinced raw feeding was the right choice, the next issue was convenience. Kibble is easy to store and easy to measure. Raw feeding usually is not. It takes freezer space, planning, weighing, washing up, and too much mental overhead.

There has to be a better owner experience. One that gives dogs exceptional nutrition without making feeding feel like a weekly logistics exercise.

Raw & Paw was started for two reasons.

01

Make the best raw dog food we possibly can.

We work with leading suppliers and nutritionists so the food itself stays at the centre of everything.

02

Make ownership feel calm, convenient, and trustworthy.

Something you can rely on for fantastic nutrition without having to constantly think about freezer maths, portions, or whether you're doing it right.

Along the way, we want to help owners understand raw feeding and feel more confident about keeping their dogs healthy. Not everyone has the time, appetite, or obsession to research this stuff in detail. That's why we're here.

If you came here wondering whether you should sign up, I hope this helped. And even if you do not choose us, I still hope you give raw feeding a fair look if you have not already. Your dog will thank you for it.

There are many raw food brands out there, both good and bad. As a general rule, you get what you pay for. Intensively reared meat is as harmful to dogs as it is to humans, and some foods contain far more bone than is recommended because it is a cheap filler once finely ground. It is worth paying attention to what is actually going into your dog's food.
